Set up your class in minutes

Every step from account creation to starting a live battle is on this page.

8 Steps

Setup and Usage Steps

You can activate WordMatik in your class by following the 8 steps below. Average setup time: 8 minutes.

01

Create Account

Go to wordmatik.app/login, click 'Register as a Teacher' and verify your email. Verification email arrives within a few seconds.

Don't skip email verification. Unverified accounts can't create classes.

02

Complete Profile

Enter school name, class level, and subject. This info is used to personalize word list suggestions.

School name is optional but makes student report view more informative.

03

Create Class

Go to 'Classes' menu, click 'New Class' button. Enter a name and description for the class. System automatically generates a 6-character unique code.

You can create multiple classes; like 5-A, 5-B. Each class has its own word lists and analytics.

04

Invite Students

Share the 6-character class code with your students. Students join your class by entering this code on the 'Join Class' screen.

Write the code on the board or send it to parents. The code can be renewed at any time.

05

Create Word List

Add words manually or upload a CSV file. For each word, enter English, Turkish translation, and unit name.

CSV format: English, Turkish, Unit — mind the column order. You can download a template.

06

Let's Play

Students can play 6 different games with your word list as soon as they open the app. The system creates a personalized review plan for each student using the FSRS algorithm.

You can track their progress in real-time as they play.

07

Start Live Battle

Go to your class page and click the 'Start Battle' button. All active students receive a notification and answer the same questions in real-time.

At least 2 active students are required for a live battle. Battle duration can be set between 5 and 20 minutes.

08

Analyze Analytics

See which words are difficult, which students are behind, and overall class performance through the panel. Visualize word mastery with a heat map.

Analytics are updated daily. You can export individual student reports as PDF.

Congratulations! Your Class is Ready.

When you complete these 8 steps, your students can start playing immediately.

Pro Tips

Tips from Experienced Teachers

The most effective usage suggestions compiled from teachers using WordMatik.

Save hours by uploading words with CSV. You can prepare a unit-based CSV file and add lists to the system for the entire year at once.

Use live battles as a warm-up activity at the beginning of classes. A 5-minute battle significantly increases students' focus on the lesson.

Review the 'Difficult Words' filter on the analytics panel weekly. Practicing these words in class accelerates learning.

Match word lists with MEB textbook units. Transfer is easier when students encounter the same context at school and in the app.

Also send class code to parents. Parents can track their child's progress from the parent panel; this strengthens school-home collaboration.

CSV Template

Download the ready CSV template to bulk upload words. Columns: English, Turkish, Unit Name. Fill out the template and drag it to the 'CSV Upload' area on the panel.
